I was eating my candy cane and inside of it I kept seeing this yellowish stuff. Since I knew it wasn't all natural, I wasn't sure what it was, but I figured it might be sugarcane or just yellow candy that was just cheaper to add into it. Well, later on, I ate a bit more of it and I found a white string running down the center of it with this same yellow stuff next to it. I'm thinking it might be there to help form the candy cane arch and the yellow stuff is just something to form the candy around and not have it stick to the string, but what use is that?
At this point I have no idea what it is and I decided to throw it out. If anyone knows what it is and why its like that, I'd like to know. Below is a picture of it.

The Fraser Fir Christmas tree is our favorite. We buy it the first week of December, store it ouidtse to keep it fresh, put it up a couple of weeks before Christmas and take it down just after New Years. Each adult child in the family is supposed to bring a new ornament for the tree each year. As children, we piled on the silver icycles, but that “tradition” has since been banned in our family. |
